Baldassare Scolari, FHGR (Fachhochschule Graubünden)

Baldassare Scolari studied religious studies at the University of Zurich. In 2018 he received his doctorate from the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with a thesis on the media representation of the Italian politician Aldo Moro as a "state martyr". Scolari has been teaching media ethics at the Universities of Applied Sciences of the Grisons (FHGR) and Bern (BFH) since 2016. His research concerns the relationship between religion and politics in the media, the representation of violence, the function of religious language in today's world, hermeneutics and political philosophy. He is currently working on a new research project on the media representation of the climate and environmental crisis and the use of semantic and rhetorical religious structures in environmental discourse.
