Walter Lesch is a professor of ethics at UCLouvain in the French speaking part of Belgium. After studies of theology, philosophy and French language and literature in Münster, Fribourg, Jerusalem and Tübingen, he obtained his PhD at the University of Tübingen. Assistant and postdoc researcher at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) from 1988 to 1999. Since 1999 professor at the University of Louvain (Belgium) with a joint appointment at the Department of Philosophy and at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies. Exploring the interface of theological discourse and secular culture, his research focusses on the ethics of migration, European integration, populist movements, gender equality and media.
